Wednesday, September 16, 2015
Every year the color corporation known as Pantone announces a color that they predict will become the newest trend in interior design, art and fashion. This year, it has been announced that 2015’s color is Marsala. It’s a rich and deep mix of red, crimson, burgundy, plum, and maroon. It screams of elegance and carries a sense of warmth and passion. You really can’t get anymore sophisticated than this lovely shade. And the best part is? You can use it in any form of design and it would up the drama of your overall look.
Nomalism is in love and we have been inspired by its’ roots. The name stems from a Western coastal city in Sicily, Italy. They’re known for their archeological site and their impeccable red wine. Marsala wine, in particular, is an earthy and robust red wine that dates back to a time when the natives drank it in its most “vintage” time so that it lasted longer on voyages.
This shade has been seen throughout all the forms of design in 2015 and is continuing to flourish more and more. Weddings, fashion, and home décor are especially prominent in utilizing this color. We are inspired by Marsala’s versatility in various homes and have gathered some of our favorite fabrics and decorating ideas that will, hopefully, motivate you to do the same. This deep shade could go a long way!
